We LOVE our new house - still can't believe it is finally done and we are finally moved in!

Valentine's day!

We had a fun Valentine's day!  This first picture is of Kent 'smiling' he said he didn't know how too...such a funny kid:)

House stuff AGAIN!!!

Here is a ton of pictures: We have a toilet and sink - yipee (notice tile is still not done - grrrr!  RC Willey's pushed it back until Monday).  Trim is up in kitchen/dinning room and I LOVE it!  Our awesome contractor was able to salvage the wood on our bar (remember the carpeted bar - lovely!) and found stain to match our blond 50's wood.  And after 5.5 hours of work our poor contractor was able to install our lovely PINK cooktop - I didn't know the control panel lit up when it was in use - I just had to take a picture...so very cool!

Grout is completed (in the Kitchen at least)!  The flooring guys ran out of tile for bathroom and it is special ordered so that will be completed this weekend.  Trim is going in today along with paint touch up and our sweet pink cooktop - so excited!  I promise I am almost done with house pictures:)  Happy Valentine's Eve!

All the lights have been installed, paint is done just touch up now, and I found an original 1950's GE PINK cooktop (in Michigan...just got it in the mail)...super excited for our retro kitchen:)  Tile on Thursday - Monday, carpet on Tuesday...we are getting soooo close!  Yipee

Progress and Swim Lessons!



The boys started swim lessons and LOVE it - they are getting so fearless in the water!  Our house is coming right along - yipee!  Paint is almost done just some touching up and accent walls left.  The bathroom has kind of been a nightmare - half the sub floor was completely rotted out and the sink was rusted throughout.  Our awesome contractor replaced the sub floor and is searching for a new sink to fit in the odd-shaped opening:) 

House progress

This house has become quite the saga for us...we closed on the home on November 13th....yipee!  We then fired our contractor 2 weeks later when it was apparent he did not have our best interests in mind (that is a saga all by itself:)  We hired a great new contractor who we absolutely love.  Add in ANOTHER 4 weeks delay for switching contractors and getting him lead base paint certified (even though our entire house was tested and there is not one spec of lead base paint - gotta love bank regulations) and then we finally started work on Jan 11.  Here is the progress so far (as of Saturday - haven't been up there this week yet)...it is getting there slowly but surely.
Painting should be completely finished within the next couple days (ps the box light in the kitchen did get removed after this pic was taken)

It is getting there - this whole process has been exciting, frustrating, heart breaking, happy, joyful, and completely crazy...we are so incredibly blessed and can't wait to FINALLY call this place home:)  More pictures to come again soon!

holidays abridged:)

So we are still alive:)  We had a great Thanksgiving and Christmas...here are a few highlights of the 100+ pictures I took over the holidays.  Above is Gabe's 1st grade Christmas concert - he did AWESOME!
